I’m Tom Eberle, Swiss and French, HEC Paris. I build software products and run them as businesses, so I know what it takes to keep the numbers straight.
My app studio, Avalanche Factory, tests apps fast and closes the ones that don’t work. Its products have made more than $347K in sales, with 900K installs. Before that, I was a publishing manager at Homa Games, a mobile games publisher in Paris.
Running my own studio taught me the unglamorous part: revenue spread across four systems, creators paid on contracts that all differ, bills to question. I automated it for myself first.
Then a medtech start-up in London asked for help. Their head of finance used Claude every day, but in their setup it couldn’t open the receipts in Xero or reach the bank. One check went through 13,000 Xero lines for the right receipt, VAT code and account, after 2–3 hours of setup. By our estimate, it saved about two weeks of manual review.
I’m not a chartered accountant or a fiduciaire, and I don’t pretend to be. I build the workflows and keep them running. Your finance lead and your fiduciaire keep the judgement calls. That split is the point.
